About Central Milton Keynes Town Council

Central  Milton Keynes Parish Council held its first meeting on 11 June 2001. Prior to that a Neighbourhood Council  had been in existence for some time.

The Parish Council has operated  for the benefit of residents since that date, and has done so with a minimal precept levy and benefitting from the close working relationship it has with MKCouncil.  Much of the work of the Council has been to contribute a resident’s viewpoint to planning applications which have a significant impact on the dynamics of the parish.

Following the May 2008 elections the new council agreed that the ‘hub’ of a prospective regional centre should have a stronger identity and successfully transformed itself into a Town Council, which change was welcomed by MK Council and a number of colleague Town Councils within the borough.

The Council has continued to champion the views of the residents, working with those new to Milton Keynes via the significant increase in residents the Council has seen in recent years.
